Registration
We ask that all copies of this software be registered with the KRESS Project. Registration can be done online via e-mail at: douglas.e.johnson@oregonstate.edu.
License Agreement
The software described in this document is furnished under a license, and may be used or copied only in accordance with the terms of this license. The KRESS modeler software is protected by the United States Copyright Law and International Treaty provisions. This software remains the property of the KRESS Project, Oregon State University/University of California/Davis. However, the KRESS Project grants the purchaser non-exclusive license to use this software subject to the terms outlined in this statement. The program is currently distributed only in compiled form.
The purchaser of a single-user license of KRESS Modeler is licensed to install and use the software on no more than one single-user computer system. The purchaser is also permitted to make a backup copy of KRESS Modeler distribution media for the sole purpose of protecting the purchaser’s investment from loss. The purchaser may not rent or lease the software, but may transfer the license to another user upon written agreement from the KRESS Project. The user may not reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the KRESS Modeler software or any of its associated software programs contained on the distribution media.
The KRESS Modeler User’s Guide that accompanies this software is also protected by United States Copyright Law and International Treaty provisions. All rights are reserved. No part of this manual may be reproduced, stored in a retrieval system, or transmitted, in any form or by any means, electronic, mechanical, photocopy, microfilm, recording, or otherwise without written consent of the KRESS Project. Direct translation of any part of the manuals is also prohibited without the written permission of the copyright holder.
Information in the KRESS User’s Guide and the program is subject to change without notice. Furthermore, The KRESS Project, Department of Rangeland Resources, Oregon State University and the University of California/Davis, assumes no responsibility for any errors that may appear in this document, or in the software it describes.
Installation System Requirements
The KRESS Modeler requires that you use Microsoft Windows XP or higher operating system, on an IBM PC compatible computer with the following minimal specifications:
Processor: Intel Pentium IV, at 400MHz
Video: A video card that supports 24bit at 1024x768
Hard drive: A minimum of 32MB free, plus additional space for storing images
Setup:
You must have administrative rights or be logged-in as a member of the administrators group when you install the KRESS Modeler on Windows ® NT/2000/XP or higher. The installation program will inform you if you do not have administrative privileges and will abort the installation process. If this happens, you should contact your computer administrator and have him/her install the program.
